Satori stands as the concluding work of Playing Chicken With God. It does not offer resolution — it destabilises it.

At the centre of the composition sits a structured, eye-like geometry: a diamond form layered with symmetry, repetition, and controlled ornamentation. The image suggests perception, awakening, and the moment of sudden insight often associated with the word “satori.” Yet the surrounding elements complicate that clarity. Lines bend. Forms fracture. Stability is held and quietly unsettled at the same time.

The work explores the tension between revelation and impermanence — the idea that understanding is never fixed, that what appears resolved may already be dissolving beneath the surface.

As the final piece in the exhibition, Satori resists closure. It does not conclude the journey initiated in Divine Transmission and carried through the central triptych. Instead, it leaves the viewer suspended in a state of heightened awareness — a recognition without finality.

Within the broader body of work, Satori represents not enlightenment as arrival, but enlightenment as instability — an insight that shifts as soon as it is grasped.

Dedicated to my daughter, Ariana.
