New Portfolio Entry: Knowing
New Portfolio Entry: Knowing
I’ve added a new work, Knowing, to my portfolio.
Like many of my recent paintings, it emerged through a process of listening rather than planning. There was no sketch, no predetermined outcome, and no attempt to force a particular image. Instead, the work was built gradually through layers of oil paint, allowing forms to surface and reveal themselves over time.
The title came later.
Knowing speaks to a kind of understanding that exists beyond language. Not certainty in the intellectual sense, but the quieter recognition that arrives when something feels true before it can be explained. It reflects a theme that has become increasingly important in my practice: learning to trust intuition, experience, and the wisdom that emerges through the act of creation itself.
The painting forms part of an ongoing body of work exploring grief, fatherhood, healing, and the confrontation of self. Rather than presenting answers, the work creates space for reflection, inviting viewers to bring their own experiences and interpretations to the encounter.
You can view Knowing in the portfolio section of my website.
